Most Impressive Local Animal?
On Thanksgiving morning I took the visiting in-laws for a drive up into the Front Range of the Rockies along the scenic Cache la Poudre River canyon. Got more than I’d bargained for! Been up the Poudre many times in the six years I’ve lived here, and never seen a bighorn until now.
Weirdest Local Beer?
Not one but two Denver area breweries are making beer flavored with . . . durian. Yes, durian, the enormous and notorious Southeast Asian fruit known for its unpleasant smelling exterior but prized for its (allegedly) delicious, custardy inner pulp. I’m not big on fruity beers but I might just have to sample these brews.
